Ask Rhodry

Note: Rhodry Malamutt has several correspondents. One of them, Nickleby, is a cat who lives in Oak Bluffs. Earlier this week Nickleby wrote about some confusion he was having about feline-human relations in his neighborhood. Rhodry's response was downright oracular. Here's the whole story:
Hi Rhodry,
How are you today? I've been having a lot of fun but I've been getting into trouble too. The neighbors with the little kids and all the big cats used to say hi to me but now they tell me to go home. They don't like it when I chase their new baby cat but I don't see why I shouldn't, the big cats all chase me. Usually I hide from them under a bush and they don't find me. The baby cat is fun to chase and scare. He runs home into his little door very fast when I come over.
I like this weather a lot and stay outside all day and sometimes go out at night too. There are lots of mice and bunnies around, I get a mouse almost every day, none of those big cats can do that.

That baby cat should not run! If he did not run, you could not chase him. I am going to see the puppy horse this weekend. The puppy horse chases me but I jump through the fence and then the puppy horse has to stop. Cannot catch me, puppy horse!
A big horse at my barn chases me too. I do not like that. That horse does not like me. He does not like my friend Dis Kitty either. Dis Kitty and Dat Kitty and the Black Kitty all stay close to the fence. I do not like it when Susanna goes in with that horse. I want to help but she says "Stay there, Rhodry!" I stay but I sing the worried puppy song until she comes back.
I cannot hide under a bush. I am too big!
Maybe you could give the baby cat a mouse. Then the baby cat would not be scared. When the baby cat grows up maybe he will give you a mouse too.
